This painting was created from an Internet picture of a japanese maple tree from the Portland Japanese Garden, a 12 acres traditional Japanese garden, located in Washington Park in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon, United States. The climate, very close to that of Japan, makes it possible to have all the vegetation of a traditional Japanese garden. In 2013, it was voted by experts as the most beautiful public Japanese garden in North America.
